Sure, it's not updated, but it'll catch the vast majority of mods, and manual sorting of the rest isn't that hard. Until it works, and does so intuitively enough that I can suggest it to a newbie user, I will always suggest BOSS over LOOT. If it doesn't work for me I feel like for a newbie user it would be like a bomb going off in their load order(which is essentially what it does to me). I've gone into more detail in the past, but the simple fact of the matter is that LOOT has ALWAYS without fail broken my game. I've essentially caught on at this point that any time I run LOOT I've just cost myself an hour running BOSS again to get everything right, then manually sorting everything by hand after to get things right. Furthermore, it ALWAYS and throws my entire load order out of whack. For example, it always sorts DCO and DoD incorrectly(kind of a well known sorting issue in two popular mods). :)įirst off, the most important thing for a automatic load order sorter is that it is easy to use and intuitive in its setup.ĮVERY time I have tried LOOT(5 separate games now) it has backfired horribly. You will need the metadata editor.įeel free to ask for further clarification if you need it. Again for the love of Talos, use the standalone LOOT and not the built in MO version. The Metadata Editor is only in the standalone version of LOOT. For that reason it is still absolutely necessary to use the Metadata Editor function of LOOT to correct load order mistakes. It is a wonderful utility but it still makes mistakes. Beyond that and more importantly is the fact that LOOT isn't perfect (still far more accurate than BOSS was though).

Mod Organizer does in fact have LOOT's sorting option built in, however it is not up to date. Please for the love of Talos do as OP suggests and switch to LOOT! The major difference between the two is covered in the stickied post guide in terms of functionality and how they work.
